Toyota Highlander
Since its inception 10 years ago, the Toyota Highlander has been the leader of the pack in the crossover segment. The combination of size, reliability, price and features make the 2011 model a lock to retain the top spot in the CUV world. It is large enough to carry the family, yet nimble enough to squeeze that last remaining mall parking space.
Like its predecessor, the 2011 Toyota Highlander is offered in three trim levels: base, SE and Limited. Base models have an impressive array of standard features that will satisfy many consumers, while stepping up to the SE nets bigger wheels, a sport-tuned suspension and some added luxury and convenience items. The Highlander Limited receives softer suspension tuning than the Sport as well as leather upholstery and a decadent assortment of interior accoutrements.
The 2011 Highlander van be had with either the 2.7L 4-cylcinder matched to a 6 speed automatic transmission, or a 3.5L V6 with a 5 speed automatic. Both engines are reasonably powerful, but the V6 offers the ability to tow 5,000 lbs: a class leader for the segment.
